The Raees-Sultan clash at the box office has been an issue that has helped gain the makers of the movies much hype even before its release. But according to the latest report the SRK-Salman face off at the box office on Eid 2016 might be avoided. Since the move is not only harmful for the movies, but also for the Bollywood industry as a whole, the makers are planning to reschedule the releases. The clash might finally be averted. Apparently, both the actors had a chat over the SRK upcoming movie Raees and the Salman starred Sultan, and it was decided by Salman that he would give up on the Eid slot for the SRK release Raees. Reportedly, since Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have started sharing the same friendship bond again and believe that there’s no competition between them, this decision has been made. The mutual respect for other’s work made this plan work out. So therefore, Shah Rukh Khan has once again retained the Eid 2016 slot for Raees while Salman will be eyeing for a Diwali 2016 release.
Since both the actors are biggies and manage to collect a good box office collection, there is a sigh of relief or everyone and no one’s film release would be hampered. SRK was quoted, “We have now become friends, so we will do everything together. For you all it is clash, but not for us. We both are going to do well then. There might be a business clash but there will be equal profit for us.” We seriously do not wish to see the SRK-Salman box office clash as the last time the two superstars clashed at the box-office was in 2006, the occasion being that of Diwali. Salman Khan was up with his Jaan-e-Mann that failed to gather the audience till the cinema hall, while Shah Rukh’s Don was a hit. While, reports of the shift in the Sultan release date are being made, a Yash Raj spokesperson denied the news and said that Sultan will release on Eid 2016. The shooting will begin in November 2015 and would wrap up in March 2016. He further stated that there are no plans to move the release date forward.
The Eid 2016 release will be something to watch out for. Since a major portion of the box office collections every year depends on the Khans and their releases, the Sultan-Raees movie clash at the box office might prove to be harmful. After the success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan that released on Eid 2015, the box office collections soared and hence no one would like to miss the irony of the two Khan superstars clashing. Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s campaign was kicked off by Shah Rukh Khan and now irony has it that the two would be battling it out next Eid. The movies have gained so much hype even before their release; we could well imagine the state when they near their releases respectively. The Sultan Raees movie clash has acted like advance publicity for both. We hope that Sultan and Raees don’t release together and either of them gets rescheduled.
